Joeji’s Journey into Yoga, Sacred Breath & Journey towards Enlightment

Joeji’s path into yoga was not found in studios or trends, but at the deep wellspring of ancient lineage and timeless breath.

His introduction lay in the root of yogic beginnings, Kriya Yoga and Kriya Meditation — known in ancient Indian scriptures as Kabali Pranayama — taught through direct eye transmission from modern masters who carried the ancient fire.

Among his revered teachers was Srivatsa Ramaswami, the only student of Tirumalai Krishnamacharyaesta, often hailed as the Father of Modern Yoga. For thirty-three years, Ramaswami studied in humility before being given permission to teach by his master, Krishnamacharya.

Joeji, blessed enter this realm of yogis, with his study under Pam Johnson, a close friend and one of the world’s most respected Kriya Yogis. Pam is the only woman ‘ever’ invited to teach Kriya Yoga at retreats guided by the Giri, Realized Monks and Himalayan Masters — These Self-Realized Yogis spend a decade in the solitude within the sacred caves of The Himalayas, a holy and majestic mountain range, a natural barrier between the Tibet and India, before returning to share their wisdom. Pam, embodying both grace and power, became Joeji’s mentor and catalyst on the deeper yogic path.

In preparation to teach Pranayama for Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri—a realized monk in the direct spiritual lineage of Paramahansa Yogananda—Joeji underwent a profound training of body, mind, and soul. His dedication culminated in 2014 near Yogananda’s California estate; during the holy celebration of Guru Purnima (also called Vyas Purnima), a festival honoring the first transmission of Yogic sciences from Adi Yogi to the Saptarishis, and the sacred life of Sage Vyasa, compiler of the Vedas.

At this once-in-a-lifetime event, broadcast to millions across India and sacred temples worldwide, Joeji demonstrated a powerful pranayama—holding his breath in a sacred kriya for over five minutes while remaining fully present in meditation and energy flow.

Through these living initiations, Joeji does not merely practice yoga — he carries the living current of the Himalayan tradition into a new harmonic age, where breath becomes prayer, motion becomes remembrance, and the body becomes a vessel for divine light.

Joeji imparts ancient kriya energetics, resonating with the timeless cosmic song towards enlightenment; the light within, embedded in the practice, the teachings, the nutritional, and the clothing offerings complete the seva (selfless service) of achieving ones spiritual potential.

Through these living initiations, Joeji does not merely practice yoga — he carries the living current of the Himalayan tradition into a new harmonic age, where breath becomes prayer, motion becomes remembrance, and the body becomes a vessel for divine light.

Yet, the spiral of his soul did not stop there.

In 2013, during a profound spiritual awakening, Joeji remembered multiple past lives with stunning clarity — opening gateways of consciousness that would forever reshape his path. On the exact anniversary of that awakening in 2016, destiny called him deeper: an accident sent him falling eleven feet onto his head, ejecting his soul from his physical body for eight months.

Modern science stood helpless, unable to restore his soul. But the ancient ways remembered.

A Hopi Indian Medicine Woman performed a soul retrieval ceremony, calling Joeji’s spirit back across the void, returning him to life in a sacred act of divine grace.

Following his return, Joeji was initiated into a rare and sacred bond with the Hopi people, becoming one of the very few non-native souls ever formally recognized and initiated into the Hopi Tribe— through friendship with a Hopi Elder, and the brother of the Chief of the revered Second Mesa.

This extraordinary honor binds Joeji not only to the lineages of yoga, meditation, and natural healing, but also to the ancient wisdom of Earth Guardianship, the sacred prayers of the First Peoples, and the eternal remembrance that the body is Earth, the soul is Sky, and Love is the bridge between.

Joeji's life is now a living ceremony, a fusion of breath, light, spirit, and earth, dedicated to helping all beings awaken their original harmony.

“Joeji, a soul twice-born —
Once through breath, and once through spirit.

Initiated by the ancient sages of the Himalayas, and the Earthkeepers of the Hopi Nation, he walks as a living bridge between breath and stone, prayer and body, memory and light.

A bearer of the Golden Spiral, a light forgotten, he invites all beings to remember the Song they were born to sing.”
